What broke my day:When you sleep through your alarm. Begin Laziness day 2. I had intentions to not be lazy today, but I guess Murphy's law had something else to say about that one. I set my alarm for 8:30, so I could get up and go to church, and be a good Pastor's daughter. But somehow I slept through it,and I woke up at 11. It probably didn't help that I went to bed at 1 o'clock in the morning (I have this thing where I can't fall asleep to a messy room/ house, and the house was trashed last night), whoops. But waking up that late meant that I was a heathen for the day, and now I'm going to hell ( just kidding, sorry God.) With this late start to the day, it wasn't looking so good for the whole productive day idea I had yesterday. Waking up way too late made me feel like my whole day is wasted. And since that day was wasted, why should I be productive now? I hate to feel like I'm not good enough to even wake up for an alarm. Waking up should be a simple task, but I couldn't even manage that this morning. It's late in the day, my eating schedule is off, and it's not a great start to the day. Starting off the day on a bad foot sets the tone for the whole day, and when I sleep in, the tone for the day is laziness, and inadequacies.
What made my day: Strawberry pie....mmmmmm. A delicious, sweet piece of heaven that goes right into my mouth. Forget the diet, strawberry pie is totally worth it. My guess is when it's made with fresh strawberries, bought from the farmer's market the day before, is that it's almost better than sex. After I woke up, I went downstairs and found a bright red mound of deliciousness sitting upon a bed of golden, flaky brown crust. Strawberries in a delicious little pan, covered with a pink/red gel that is sooo super sweet, it can get rid of all the cravings one has for sugar. I'm not a huge fan of pies, but who can resist a fresh made pie, made with fresh, local picked strawberries. Granted, I don't actually like the strawberries (I pick them out and just eat the red gel and crust), but the gel, and flavor is so unbelievably delicious, that it's worth picking out the nuggets of strawberries. The flavor of this pie is even more appetizing when you've just woken up and are trying to get the rank morning breath out of your mouth (mmmmmm....mucus:p.s. I'm sick so it's even worse), and something that sweet is the perfect counteraction to the grossness. I mean at least it's a little healthy, right.? At least it's not chocolate pie, I mean that would just be gluttonous.
